April 18, 2014~Good Friday

After praying He is more confident. "Get up, let us go!" (Mark 14:33-36)
In St. John's Passion, read today:
He answers back to the High Priest (18:20-21)
He is fearless before Pilate (18:33-38)
He carries His own cross (19:28) from the cross He makes arrangements for his mother (19:26-27)
He deliberately fulfills the Scripture (19:28); AND in a supreme act of self-giving, he gives forth the Spirit (19:30).
Intercessions~
God of fidelity and love, we pray: R/ Lord, have mercy.
Stripped and mocked, you endured trials without complaint: help us to bear our crosses R/
Unwavering in love, you bore the cross for  us: help us to lessen the load of others crosses R/
Afflicted in agony, you extended compassion to your mother; help us to reach out to others in their suffering R/
Our Father......
