                                                      FROM  MY  FRONT  PORCH

Today is the Second of  Easter also known as DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY.
Fortunately, I was able to watch mass at my old parish, Sacred Heart in Monroe, N.Y.on u-tube. It  was a wonderful experience;especially being Divine Mercy Sunday. Let me explain for those who might not have knowledge of this particular Sunday.

Devotion to the Divine Mercy- Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, reported visions and visitations from Jesus and conversations with him. He asked her to paint the vision of his merciful divinity being poured from His Sacred Heart and specifically asked for a feast of the Divine Mercy to  be established on the first  Sunday after Easter Sunday, so that mankind would take refuge in Him.

Meanwhile I would like to post The Chaplet of Divine Mercy (you should use your rosary to say the chaplet as follows:

  1. Make the Sign of the Cross
  2. Say the Our Father
  3. Say the Hail Mary
  4. Say the Apostle Creed
  5. Say the Eternal Father (For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world.
  6. Say 10 "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion" on the "Hail Mary" beads.
  7. Repeat four more decades, saying "Eternal Father" on the "Our Father" beads and then 10 for "The sake of His sorrowful Passiion" on the following"Hail Mary" beads.
  8. At the conclusion of the five decades, on the medallion say the "Holy God, Holy Mighty One,Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world.
Closing Prayer (Optional)          Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase your Mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy will,  which is Love and Mercy Itself. Amen ( I find this prayer very comforting!)

The chaplet can be said anytime. You  can say it for ones own intentions or together. It is said on EWTN in the afternoon at 3pm.

Our Lord said to Saint Faustina to encourage souls to say  the Chaplet which I have given you...

Thank you for listening, let's pray together for God's Mercy; especially during these difficult times that we are experiencing in dealing with the Corona Virus-Covid 19
