CHRIST THE KING:
I attended the mass for Christ the King. The sermon by Fr. Digal was a teaching moment; that I would like to share with others. This what I recollect to the best of my memory. Father Digal told us a story about a king who fell deeply in love with a peasant girl. He wanted to marry her; but, she was not of the same status as he. This of course was puzzlement to him and thought about the positive; he deep love of her and the negative; he would have to give up his throne. After many serious consideration, the king decided to give up his throne, become a farmer and marry the peasant girl.. There was no ending to this story; as we had to come up with our own ending.
At this point in his sermon, Father began to tell us another story about another king. this king also gave up his throne for his people; who he loved unconditionally; so much, that he gave his life for them; so they could be saved. Like the first story, there was no ending to this story either. The ending of this story was for each and everyone of us to decide the ending of our own stories and our relationship with our Christ the King.
